Thank you for your question regarding border timbers. The border type you have chosen are 52 inches long with 4 feet of usable length taking into account 4 inches of overlap for interlocking. Based on the dimensions that you provided I also estimate you will need about 28. You may want to also consider adding a full or half ramp to your border to create easier access for children and adults with mobility challenges, as well as strollers.
